I am an oceanographer and senior scientist at STR. -- My current work is on passive and active sensor signal processing, detection, tracking, GPS-denied navigation, and control of underwater and aerial vehicles. -- From 2014-2016 I was a postdoc at Harvard University's Department of Earth and Planetary Science. I worked with Eli Tziperman on paleoturbulence, coastal upwelling and boundary mixing. -- Past projects (see publications) identified the role of Antarctic ice shelves in deep ocean stratification, our ability to estimate historical deep ocean salinity, temperature, and density from ocean sediment pore fluids, and the state space of glacial and deglacial ocean density structure. -- I was last at sea from November 7 - December 5, 2016 on the RRS James Clark Ross, for repeat hydrography of Drake Passage line SR1B. More info on the project can be found at NOC Southampton's project page.
